3/6 Lima Co. recieves swift, overwhelming support after fire

To all of our supporters and generous friends who donated or plan on donating to the Marines of Lima Company, 3^rd Battalion, 6^th Marine Regiment, who fell victim to a fire destroying most of their possessions, first we thank you for all that you did for these Marines. The response was so great that within 24 hours the Marines were restocked on all of their toiletries and then some. They are busting at the seems with supplies that they are no longer in need of anything and they are starting to pass out the extra’s to Marines at other locations. We thank you very much for your swift and expedient help in ensuring our Marines were well taken care of in their time of need, but they have requested that no more items be sent, they are running out of room.

I have a 3/6 Lima Marine (my son's best friend) and yes, they have received lots of items. However, what they are missing most are their electronics. Music is of the utmost importance and has been lost. I have working diligently on this problem, but have yet to solve it.

Military-spac.org has been glad to help in sending supplies to those that need it. Glad they are getting back on their feet.

So, now can we send electronics loaded with digital music? Maybe some of us can put enough together to send a couple of laptops. What can we do to make the sand pit a little less monotonous?

Humbled and I would like to help out. What can we offer? Do they prefer I-pod, laptop, or the latest I-phone 3G? I can do one of these, I'm not sure what H wants to do.

I BEGAN A DRIVE TO GATHER ITEMS FOR THESE YOUNG MEN WHO LOST SO MUCH IN THE FIRE. MY SON WHO IS WITH THE 3/6 LIMA CO. UNIT 73305 WAS VERY LUCKY TO NOT HAVE LOST HIS PERSONAL ITEMS. BUT HIS BUDDIES WHO ARE BROTHERS TO HIM LOST SO MUCH. AND AS THEY ARE BROTHERS TO MY SON I FEEL AS IF THEY ARE SON'S TO ME. SO I WENT TO OUR LOCAL T.V. STATION AND MY MESSAGE WAS BROADCAST AND MINUTES LATER WE HAD AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE. WE RECEIVED SO MUCH. I CONTINUE TO GET IN EMAILS, PHONE CALLS AND SUPPORT. IT IS AWESOME HOW SO MANY PEOPLE OPENED THEIR HEARTS TO THIS CAUSE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ECONOMY IS HURTING SO MANY POCKETS. I BELIEVE GOD IS GOOD TO THOSE WHO GIVE FROM THE HEART. ANYWAY, HUNDREDS OF ITEMS HAVE BEEN SENT TO THEM AND EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY HAVE MORE THAN NEEDED THEY ARE SHARING WITH ALL OTHERS. PAY IT FORWARD IS MY MOTTO. I PRAY THAT WE NEVER HAVE THIS HAPPEN AGAIN BUT IT HAS DRIVEN ME TO DO MORE THAN THAT NOW. I PLAN TO GET PACKAGES SENT ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH TO ALL TROOPS WITH ITEMS SUCH AS GOODIES TO SNACK ON, PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS, LETTERS FROM SCHOOL CHILDREN AND ORGANIZATIONS. I WANT TO SEND TO THOSE WHO NEVER RECEIVE ANYTHING FROM HOME ALSO. BECAUSE BEING SO FAR AWAY FROM HOME AND DEALING WITH THE ROUGH ENVIRONMENT MUST BE A CHALLENGE. SO IF YOU READ THIS AND WANT TO CONTACT ME PLEASE DO SO. I LOVE KNOWING PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HELP IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OUR TROOPS AND YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES.
