Month of the Mustache

What is it with military men and mustaches? On the Naval Aviation side of things, it is traditional to grow a "Boat 'Stache" in preparation for one's initial carrier qualification. In the weeks leading up to my husband's det to go land a plane on an aircraft carrier for the first time, there was a lot of facial hair-related hilarity around our house. Glad you all are having fun with your new upper lip decorations, too.
Please post a group "stache" pic!
Some guys with the 24th MEU did this, too, early in the deployment. If there's no humor to be found, sometimes you just have to make humor. You could have a 'stache style contest, or a name contest. Marines are always resourceful, from what I've read and seen. Definitely post some pics, if you can! :-)

Oh yeah...bored Marines will make their own fun.

In that spirit, I invite you to visit www.myspace.com/dcprotestwarrior and check out the ugly mug sporting the cookie duster. Ya'll probably can't get away with that, but from a former Marine to my Brothers in the Sandbox:

OOOOOOOOOOOORAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, Gunnutt took one of those pictures you will see on myspace. Her camera survived, barely.
What Gunnut said...we want a pic! While we do like looking at Mr. Sellek, we love our Marines more!

Bringing it back to Tom Selleck....lol. Good post!
Saw an impressive handlebar mustache at an exhibit dealing with Col. William Darby.

OK - NO FAIR! Isn't it enough that you are all 1)big, bad a$$ Marines, 2) in a military uniform? and now 3) sporting mustaches. Geez, makes an old lady swoon at the thought.

Keep up all of the great work you are doing and be safe! We don't tell you enough how much we appreciate all of you for what you do for our nation.
