“The souk is usually pretty busy, a lot of hustle and bustle,” Sarlo said. “For the most part the people are really friendly, if you say hello to them they’ll smile and say hello back. The area is 100 percent better than what it used to be.”

Excellent news Marines. Only the best peoples from our country could complete this work. Job well done Marines! The Iraqi people are blessed with you all.

Great job Marines. Just one little quibble with the article, I believe Al salaam a’alaykum means PEACE be with you, not God. With the kind of dedication to duty that the Marines have shown all along it looks finally as if Iraq CAN be healed.

Thank you all.

Lance Cpl. Casey Jones was correct. God implies peace. Hence, God be with you means...peace be with you, contextually to the culture in Iraq.

Lance Cpl. Casey Jones -to you and to your fellow soliders...peace and God steer you back home. I pray for you.

Write more, be safe and come home soon.
